Pediatric Evaluations and Screenings

Occupational/Physical Therapy Evaluation

One size does not fit all – especially when it comes to children's development. Our occupational therapy evaluations provide the groundwork for designing personalized intervention strategies. By understanding your child's unique strengths and areas for growth, we create an individualized plan that targets their specific needs. Our goal is to empower your child to thrive in their daily activities, from school tasks to playtime adventures.

An Occupational Therapy Evaluation and/or Physical therapy Evaluation is the first step of the therapy process. A comprehensive evaluation typically takes 60 minutes utilizing standardized testing and clinical observations.  The HELP, Berry VMI, Peabody Motor Development Scales (PDMS-2) , Sensory Profile 2, and Bruinicks Test is Motor Proficiency (BOT-2) are some testing measures used. Sensory processing, sensory motor,  self help skills, social emotional skills, gross motor and fine motor development are assessed during the full evaluation process. Standardized scores and test results, clinical observations and parent, caregiver, and teacher interview findings are provided in a comprehensive evaluation report. Goals, treatment planning and recommendations are discussed with family in a separate 30 minute meeting after the evaluation is completed.

Occupational/Physical Therapy Screening

Early detection can be a game-changer. Our occupational therapy screenings are designed to catch potential challenges before they become hurdles. Through quick and targeted assessments, we identify red flags that might affect your child's development. Catching these challenges early allows us to intervene promptly, setting the stage for more effective outcomes in the long run.

*Note: All new clients are required to have an assessment or evaluation prior to beginning services. This is essential to ensure an accurate baseline, set goals, create a treatment plan and encourage a family centered approach to therapy sessions.  A NYC board of education (CPSE or CSE), Early Intervention or outside private evaluation will be considered on a case by case basis.
